Paralysis tick
The paralysis tick (Ixodes holocyclus) lives along Australia's east coast from QLD to eastern VIC. Signs appear 3–5 days after attachment: wobbly hind legs, vomiting, laboured breathing — fatal if untreated. Prevent with year-round tick control, daily body checks (head, ears, armpits), and see a vet immediately if a tick is found.
