Dog parks in the City of Port Phillip

City of Port Phillip runs three permanent off-leash dog beaches: St Kilda West Beach, Port Melbourne Beach next to Lagoon Pier, and Sandridge Beach in Garden City — all open 24 hours, year-round. St Kilda West Beach's native grass dune habitat stays off-limits to dogs, and Sandridge Beach's neighbouring Perce White Reserve doesn't allow dogs either.

St Kilda West Beach

City of Port Phillip

St Kilda West Beach, on the western side of St Kilda's foreshore near the marina, is one of the City of Port Phillip beaches where dogs are permitted off-leash at all times of year, unlike most of the municipality's beaches which restrict off-leash access to the cooler months. The neighbouring native grass dune habitat is closed to dogs, on or off leash, to protect the vegetation. It sits within walking distance of St Kilda's cafes, restaurants and the St Kilda Pier precinct.

The stretch of Port Melbourne Beach next to Lagoon Pier is a permanent off-leash area, open to dogs at all times rather than only outside the summer restriction period that applies elsewhere on this beach.
