The Australian Cat Club Championship Show returns to Ringwood in September 2026 with more than 100 cats expected, three judging rings and an international guest judge. The Australian Cat Club describes itself as having been established around 1919, making it one of the country's longest-running cat organisations. What does a three-ring show mean?

Each judging ring produces its own results. Cats may also be assessed within coat-length divisions and competition classes, so several recognised exhibits can emerge from the same event. A strong result reflects how a cat is assessed against the relevant standard and class—not simply which animal draws the biggest crowd reaction.

The club's previous published results included Persians, Cornish Rex, Siberians, Singapuras, Ragdolls and American Shorthairs. A Companion class was also recognised, showing that the programme is not limited to a single pedigree category.

What visitors can learn

Use the show as an educational visit rather than trying to see every cat quickly. Useful questions include:

Championship judging depends on a calm environment. Visitors should:

• avoid running, shouting or sudden crowding;
• never tap cages or reach toward a cat without permission;
• keep clear of judging areas and steward pathways;
• supervise children throughout the visit;
• follow instructions from organisers, exhibitors and venue staff.

Do not treat the event as a hands-on petting expo. Whether interaction is appropriate depends on the individual cat and the exhibitor's permission.
